If walls can talk, then they would gossip about the sloppy kisses adolescent sweethearts share when their parents are away.

If walls can talk, then they would mediate between bickering couples on the brink of separation.

If walls can talk, then they would shout encouragements at young men who love desperately, and secretively.

If walls can talk, then they would gladly mention to you how many times you stalk specific people’s social media accounts every single day.

If walls can talk, then they would tell lesbian women who are secretly in love with their best friends to stop with all the moping, ‘man’ up, and just say it.

If walls can talk, then they would know just what to say to calm suicidal girls who think they’re not pretty enough for boys.

If walls can talk, then they would express their disgust about the kind of fetishes lonely men with fast internet connection have.

If walls can talk, then they would snicker harmlessly at children reading their first dirty magazine.

If walls can talk, then they would shout obscenities at managers forcing themselves on their secretaries.

If walls can talk, then they would comfort children who hear their parents arguing violently in the other room.

If walls can talk, then they would criticize every film director who holds ‘unconventional’ auditions for young starlets.

If walls can talk, then they would smack some sense on young women contemplating abortion.

If walls can talk, then they would cry foul every time new inmates in prisons undergo the soap treatment.

If walls can talk, then they would command toilet bowls not to open their covers for bulimic women to puke on.

If walls can talk, then they would not allow students to be graded by professors based on sexual favors.

If walls can talk, then they would tell emotionally tortured, drug-addled writers to just play it cool.

If walls can talk, then they would echoingly torment corrupt politicians who sleep comfortably on their golden beds.

If walls can talk, then they would reread to pastors and priests the bible verses they preach but do not practice.

If walls can talk, then they would collectively attend rape trials as star witnesses.

If walls can talk, then they would violently resist the temptation of joining in on heroin parties.

If walls can talk, then they would be able to recite melancholic poems about prostitutes whose lives could have been way
different.

If walls can talk, then the clandestine things that happen behind closed doors will have their opinionated audience.

If walls can talk, then people are safe.

If walls can talk, then no one shall ever be afraid.

If walls can talk, then their words would be endless, for our secrets fuel their voices.

    beautiful! How sad it is that human beings are actually able to talk but they refuse to.
